The New York Jets had some serious kicking problems on Sunday. Kaare Vedvik went 0-for-1 on field goal attempts and 0-for-1 on extra point attempts. This stings even more because the Jets lost by a single point to the Buffalo Bills (17-16).

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the Jets went out and found a new kicker. According to the Jets' official Twitter account, that new kicker is Sam Ficken.

Ficken kicked for the Los Angeles Rams for a tiny portion of each of the last two seasons.

Although he struggled in those games, Ficken won the kicker workout, meaning he was the top candidate.

Ficken went 3-for-6 in four games between the two years. With that in mind, he might not be the most reliable option, but that's simply where the Jets are at the moment.

They're clearly desperate for something in the kicking game. They need something to click, something to work. Due to that, they're going to go down every avenue until they find that exact thing.

For the moment, that means giving Ficken a look. It could work out wonderfully. Obviously, the Rams saw something in him each of the last two seasons that made them choose Ficken as their replacement to Greg Zuerlein.

Now, the Jets see something in him as well. Kaare Vedvik has struggled so much, that any change is probably a good one.

That being said, Vedvik was traded for a fifth-round pick this offseason (to the Minnesota Vikings). He's clearly got something that made teams extremely interested in him. Hopefully he can figure it out and put it all together and get his career back on the right track.
