Monday night featured a match between two of the worst teams of the AFC: The New England Patriots and the New York Jets. The game came down to the wire and it took former Jets player Nick Folk to give the Patriots the winning edge after he made the game-winning field goal with just three seconds left. The kick sealed the narrow 30-27 victory, burying the Jets deeper in the team standings with a 0-9 record.

Halfway through the NFL campaign and with tank season fast approaching, not a few experts and fans had interesting insights on the game. One of the more interesting takes was from NFL Network's Rich Eisen, who aired his thoughts on Twitter. More specifically, about Folk's clutch FG.

Eisen alluded to the former Pro Bowler's huge game-winning FG in the Wild Card of the 2010 Playoffs, which put the Jets past Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Though the kick was one of the biggest plays in Folk's six-year stint in New York, Eisen mentioned that Folk knocking down a 51-yard game-winning FG on Monday night for the Patriots was probably even bigger.

Some believe that the Patriots should just let this season go and focus on putting themselves in a prime position to possibly grab hotshot quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Folk's game-winning kick, however, definitely didn't help that cause. On the contrary, what the 36-year old did was give the Patriots their third win of the season and kept his former team winless. The Jets are on their way to having the worst record in the league and possibly a top lottery pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and they have no one else to thank but their former kicker.
