New York Jets safety Jamal Adams has easily established himself as one of the most promising, young defensive players in the NFL. It appears he is already among the best in a number of crucial areas.

Adams has been a stabilizing force in the Jets defense over the past two seasons. According to Pro Football Focus, he is one of the most productive players at his position:

Adams has already developed a reputation for being one of the best safeties in the league. It is no secret that he has been one of the few bright spots for this lackluster Jets team ever since he was taken with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. However, these stats put in perspective just how effective he has been this season.

Adams' boasts a versatile skill set that allows New York to utilize him in every defensive scheme. He is more than capable of guarding receivers from any area on the field. He made headlines a couple of weeks ago for his stellar performance against New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. He managed to hold Gronkowski to just three receptions for 56 yards.

Not only is he tremendous in coverage, but Adams is also as physical as any other safety in the league. As a result, he has posted some tremendous numbers this season with 89 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and an interception. He will be looking to end the year on a high note by potentially earning his first career Pro Bowl selection.
