New York Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa spent the entire 2019 campaign recovering from a neck injury. Unfortunately, it appears he is nowhere close to nearing a return.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Enunwa and wide receiver Josh Bellamy have been placed on the physically unable to perform list and are expected to miss the entire season:

Although the update certainly deals a crushing blow to the receiving corps, the front office also has some major cap issues to deal with regarding Enunwa's contract:

Enunwa missed all of the 2017 campaign after being g diagnosed with bulging disks in his neck that would require surgery. He re-injured his neck once again in the first quarter of the 2019 season opener against the Buffalo Bills. And it appears his career could now be in serious jeopardy.

The Jets will have some big decisions to make if they hope to clear up some much-needed cap space. Of course, their biggest concern may be the lack of weapons for quarterback Sam Darnold on the outside at this point in the offseason.

Although the Jets have made efforts to shore up his supporting cast by signing wide receiver Breshad Perriman and a number of offensive linemen, it remains to be seen if it will be enough for Darnold to take that next step in his development.
