Veteran wide receiver Robby Anderson may have very well played his last snaps as a member of the New York Jets this past Sunday afternoon against the rival Buffalo Bills.

With the prolific pass catcher currently gearing up to enter NFL free agency, Anderson appears pretty determined to at least test the open market before ultimately making a decision regarding his future as an NFL wideout.

“I don’t think it’s really logical to sign before [free agency] at this point from a business perspective,” Anderson recently told reporters, via USA TODAY Sports. “Why wouldn’t I go out there and see what my value truly could be and do things in the correct business manner? That wouldn’t really be logical.”

As it stands today, Anderson has spent his entire four-year NFL playing career as a member of the Jets after playing collegiate at Temple.

“The goal, in the business perspective, is to get the most money and the best situation,” Anderson added, via USA TODAY Sports. “The goal is to best the most amount of money with what I’m worth and be in the best situation.”

Appearing in 16 regular-season games in three of his first four seasons with the Jets, the 26-year-old Anderson encountered his second-most productive campaign to date in 2019.

Over the course of all 16 regular-season games, he tallied 52 receptions for 779 receiving yards and five touchdowns. His best single-season effort came in 2017 as Anderson registered 63 receptions for 941 receiving yards and seven scores on 114 targets across 16 outings — all of which still serve as single-season career-high marks.
