New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold suffered a shoulder injury during Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos, but he returned to the game after missing just four snaps. However, there's now a chance he misses some time.

Still, Darnold doesn't regret playing through the shoulder injury:

Darnold suffered the injury when he took a massive hit to his throwing shoulder. The former No. 3 overall pick proceeded to make a trip to the locker room after the play as he grimaced in pain.

After getting his shoulder looked at in the locker room, Darnold made a valiant return to the game, though it was all for naught in a loss. Jets head coach Adam Gase then unveiled that Darnold's shoulder injury could cause him to miss time.

As of this moment, the extent of Darnold's ailment is uncertain and likely won't be known until later in the week. Even though there's uncertainty surrounding his status, Darnold says he feels good and hopes to be on the practice field on Wednesday.

Given the vague answers Gase gave when asked about the injury, it seems as if Darnold's participation in practice will give us a better gauge of his status for Week 5. As NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports, if Darnold is able to throw on Wednesday, it's a positive sign for New York's franchise quarterback:

The good news for the Jets is that since the injury occurred last Thursday, Darnold will have a few more days to heal. In the event that Darnold does happen to miss New York's next game against the Arizona Cardinals, Joe Flacco would likely get the start under center.
