The New York Jets pulled out a surprising 48-17 blowout win over the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football that was led by an impressive outing from rookie quarterback Sam Darnold.

Among those that contributed greatly to that performance was wide receiver Quincy Enunwa, who had a team-best six catches for 63 receiving yards and a touchdown. According to Manish Mehta of The New York Daily News, Darnold voiced much praise toward Enunwa's ability to impact the passing game heavily.

This was a promising showing from Enunwa after a disappointing 2017 campaign that was derailed by injuries that put his status with the team up in the air. However, he was able to show more than enough in the offseason and training camp to latch onto a huge role in the passing game. He has shown that big-play ability that he showcased back in 2016 where he made 58 receptions for 857 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Enunwa looks to be completely passed the neck injury that required him to undergo surgery and miss all of last season. He has a chance to secure a significant spot as possibly Darnold's top receiving target as the two have displayed some strong connection on the field that could make that pairing a staple in the passing game moving forward this year. It should add another element to Jets offense that has big-play makers like wideout Robbie Anderson along with running backs, Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell.

New York could have the chance to make some headway with Darnold leading the charge with the offense. There will be plenty of ups and downs as he goes through his rookie campaign, but the team certainly appears to be headed in the right direction. Enunwa also looks to be a big piece of the puzzle toward them finally building something special.
