The New York Jets were one of the worst teams in the NFL last season, but they were building something good with Sam Darnold. This year, he believes that this team will have an incredible offensive game.

The sophomore QB had an okay rookie season that saw him experience growing pains in his adjustments to NFL life. However, the offseason moves the Jets have done give the former USC QB the confidence that the team can perform this season.

Asked about the potential of the Jets offense in 2019, he put a good word in for the team.

“Electric,” Darnold said of this year’s offense, per the NY Jets' Ethan Greenberg. “I think we’re going to do some fun things out there with all the tempo and all the different things we can do. It’ll be fun, it will be fun to watch us and hopefully we are going to put up a lot of points.”

However, the QB who got 2865 passing yards his rookie season is not disillusioned about the Jets' current abilities.

“It’s not that I’m expecting there to be growing pains, but if there are, we’re just going to roll with them,” Darnold said. “We’re going to play it one play at a time. If something happens during the course of a series, I might go the sideline and tell [Adam] Gase how I’m feeling back there, how the defense is responding and all of that. We’re just going to try and figure things out. Right now, especially, we have a really good foundation for where we want to go.”

The Jets finished at the bottom of the AFC East with a 4-12 record. However, the additions of Ryan Kalil and Le'Veon Bell is sure to give the team a much-needed boost.
