The New York Jets looked like a completely different team in Week 6 and they'll be getting one of their offensive weapons back on the field in the near future. Following the team's first win of the season, tight end Chris Herndon was activated from the suspension list.

Before the season began, the NFL handed Herndon a four-game suspension for violating the league's subtance-abuse policy. The suspension came due to the young pass-catcher pleading guilty to a DWI from an incident that occurred during the summer of 2018.

The Jets could have activated Herndon to the active roster in Week 5 but he suffered a hamstring injury while running routes in practice. As a result, the second-year tight end missed the past two games due to the injury.

In Week 6, Ryan Griffin filled in at the tight end position and was able to catch three passes for 28 yards and a score. Now, New York will have Herndon return to the field as a receiving threat for Sam Darnold.

Last season, Herndon and Darnold built a decent rapport as rookies together. The rookie tight end out of Miami was able to haul in 39 receptions for 502 yards and four touchdowns. As a matter of fact, Herndon led the team in receiving yards in 2018.

After defeating the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6, the Jets will be tested once again against the New England Patriots for the second time this season. Back in Week 3, the Patriots took down the Jets 30-14 in a game where Darnold and Herndon were inactive for.
