The New York Jets are set to take on the Chicago Bears in Week 8 a bit shorthanded offensively with their top receiving options in Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa out for the contest. This has thrown in the question concerning the status of veteran wide receiver Terrelle Pryor being available to bring back into the mix.

Head coach Todd Bowles touched upon the situation on Friday, stating that the team will look into possibly re-signing Pryor after this upcoming Sunday's game, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Asked at a press conference whether the team has considered re-signing Pryor, Bowles said, “We’ll revisit it after this game.”

New York recently parted ways with Pryor due to concerns with his health, believing they would keep him out of action for a few weeks. However, this has been dispelled by the 28-year-old, as he has posted videos working out without a lingering injury. On top of that, Pryor also voiced that there are a few teams interested in acquiring his services this season now that he is on the open market.

The Jets initially brought him aboard hoping he would become a major contributor to their passing game, but he has struggled to produce at a high level. He has notched only 14 receptions for 235 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. What should be factored into the equation is that he underwent ankle surgery just prior to the start of the preseason and he's coming off a 2017 campaign that saw him undergo season-ending ankle surgery.

This is a still a fluid situation that could see the Jets jump back into the mix to bring back Pryor, but it may also open the door to another team that needs help at the wide receiver position. In the meantime, he is clearly still on New York's radar.
