The drama in San Francisco has produced a myriad of storylines in regards to a potential Deebo Samuel trade. It began with stirrings that the superstar may not be happy with the 49ers. Those stirrings developed into facts after Samuel requested a trade. However, the 49ers then declared they had no intention of dealing him away. But Samuel may have the star power to force his way out of San Francisco. The New York Jets have been linked to him as a possible landing destination if a trade were to come to fruition.

New York was also linked to Tyreek Hill before he was dealt to the Miami Dolphins. Jets quarterback Zach Wilson recently shared his thoughts on the team missing out on Tyreek Hill.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t get that one, but that’s part of it. We’re really gonna work to get the next one, I’m sure.”

And that next one might be Deebo Samuel. Wilson also discussed the Jets' interest in the star receiver/running back.

“Deebo is a great player … there would be no hesitation there. What we’d have to give up isn’t up to me.”

The Jets are desperate for a winning season after laboring over the past few years. They are slowly building a foundation and the roster is trending in the right direction. Zach Wilson is expected to take strides forward in 2022 and adding a player with Deebo Samuel's skill set would only help the young quarterback.

It will be interesting to see if New York can make a Samuel-based trade happen with the 49ers.
