Zach Wilson balled out in Week 2 of the NFL preseason, as he led the New York Jets to a 23-14 victory over the winless Green Bay Packers. The Jets winning at the expense of Green Bay would have been a shocker if this was a meeting in the regular season with Aaron Rodgers under center for the Packers, but in any case, what Wilson showed in this game has everyone's attention on the former BYU Cougars star.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh had some praises for the rookie after the game which speaks quite a lot about how happy New York is so far with its shiny new weapon under center. Per Andy Vasquez of USA TODAY:

Saleh said Zach Wilson’s “process is light years ahead” of a normal rookie. “The results, sometimes will be good, sometimes will be bad, and he’s just got to continue to find ways to get better.”

All Wilson did in the Packers game was complete nine of 11 throws for 128 passing yards and a couple of touchdowns. He also didn't throw an interception. No biggie. Just normal things for a rookie quarterback. In addition to that, Wilson's passer rating of 154.7 in that contest was better than any passer rating his predecessor, Sam Darnold, had put up in a preseason game for the Jets from 2018 to 2019.

Wilson and the Jets will look to finish the preseason undefeated when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles at home in Week 3.
