The New York Jets are entering a new era of football in 2019 and second-year quarterback Sam Darnold is leading the way. It was obvious this offseason that the Jets wanted to get back into playoff contention, especially with the way that they spent money in free agency.

Le'Veon Bell was one of the biggest additions for any team this offseason. He is expected to help take the offense to the next level. The only issue could be how he fits alongside Darnold.

In a report shared by Pro Football Talk, Darnold shared that there is no telling when he'll click with Bell.

“I don’t think there’s necessarily a certain time period that you can put on it,” Darnold said. “It’s just kind of when we click, we click. If you remember last year, me and Robby clicked a little bit later in the year. So, there’s no telling on when it will happen. Hopefully, it’s a little earlier than that. I think, me and Le’Veon, we get along well. So, that’s kind of the first step in building that relationship. It’s good to kind of go on the same page with him and just see how he kind of runs routes and how he runs out there. I haven’t seen him really run and it was good to kind of see him run some routes and throw the ball to him a little bit.”

Darnold and Bell should be just fine. They will have training camp and the preseason to figure things out with each other. Both players are looking forward to competing and that will bring them together.

Adam Gase has to be excited about the new offense that he has. After struggling with the Miami Dolphins over the past few years, Gase is getting a very talented young quarterback and one of the best running backs in the NFL. There are still some question marks at the wide receiver position, but that will come in time.

Expect to see Darnold and Bell come together quickly and for the Jets' offense to take a big leap forward in 2019.
