Just when you thought there couldn't be any more drama surrounding the New York Jets today. The Jets sent shockwaves throughout the league by firing general manager Mike Maccagnan this morning, but the chaos didn't end there.

New head coach Adam Gase was elevated to interim GM, and it's clear he'll have a larger role in personnel decisions moving forward. Immediately reports began trickling out about what led to the sudden demise of Maccagnan, and apparently, he had several big disagreements with Gase.

This is pretty huge news and could complicate Bell's time with the Jets before it even gets started. Whether they like it or not, the Jets are now tied to Bell for the foreseeable future, and reports like this leaking out will only create further headaches.

Gase will surely try to deny and downplay the report internally, but with a personality as large as Bell's, it's possible he might not take the news too kindly. If nothing else, it will make for an awkward dynamic between a player and coach who need to be on the same page.

It's not shocking that the Jets decided to let Maccagnan go after hiring Gase, but the timing is very odd. Gase was hired all the way back in January, and the Jets let Maccagnan spend a ton of money in free agency and run the draft.

Additionally, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network tweeted that Gase “also didn’t love the price tag on CJ Mosley,” another big acquisition of Maccagnan's. It'll be very interesting to see how everyone around the team responds to all this news.
