Le'Veon Bell is going to be one of the top free agents available this coming NFL offseason and the New York Jets could be a team to watch when it comes to teams trying to pursue him. They have a need at the running back position and are trying to boost their rebuilding process as well. Pairing Bell and rookie quarterback Sam Darnold would make their offense much more dangerous.

Bleacher Report also thinks that the Jets should try to sign Bell this offseason. They gave quite a few reasons why the fit would be ideal for New York.

Whichever team lands the three-time Pro Bowler is going to have to overspend, but the Jets can do exactly that. According to OverTheCap, New York will have the second-most cap space next offseason. Adding Bell would give Darnold an elite weapon with which to work and the kind of presence that would draw the attention of opposing defenses.

Bell would be an ideal choice for a Jets team looking to take pressure off Darnold's shoulders and limit his mistakes.

After sitting out the entire 2018 NFL season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bell's value may take a bit of a hit. There may be a few teams that are not willing to spend the big bucks that he wants. New York likely won't be one of those teams.

During the 2017 season with the Steelers, Bell showed off what he is capable of doing each and every season. He carried the football 321 times for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns. Bell also caught 85 passes for 655 yards and two touchdowns.

It has been a long time since the Jets had a feared offense. Darnold may not be a “feared” quarterback just yet, but there is no denying the big potential that he has.

Bell is one of the most feared running backs in the league. If they were able to sign him and balance out their offense, the Jets could put together a very dangerous offense.

All of that being said, there are going to be plenty of teams that want to sign Bell this offseason. New York will have to be extremely aggressive if they want to lock him up.
