The New York Jets currently sit at the third-overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. They could be interested in trading out of that pick though when it comes down to it.

According to Jason La Canfora, the Jets could definitely deal their first-round selection before the NFL Draft begins. In the article, La Canfora says the Washington Redskins could be a possible team that makes a deal with the Jets.

Here's an excerpt from the article talking about the possibility that New York makes a move to trade down in the 2019 NFL Draft.

“Now, with Darnold in tow and perhaps on the cusp of a breakout season, the Jets are ready, willing and eager to move down out of the third spot to secure more draft capital.”

This seems like a logical plan for the Jets as they already have their franchise quarterback in Sam Darnold—who they selected in last year's draft.

The Jets traded up in the 2018 NFL Draft to select Darnold—making the acquiring of draft picks for the future a plausible course of action.

The Jets have a new head coach in Adam Gase and he seems to be fully confident with Darnold under center going forward. They may miss out on a top defensive prospect by trading back but they could land a lot of future draft picks.

The Redskins have the 15th overall pick in this year's draft—which would likely find its way to New York if a trade was made for Washington to move up.

There are other teams who could also look to move up to land a quarterback.
