The New York Jets were once rumored to be a favorite to land Deshaun Watson via trade, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Amid a recent appearance on ESPN's Get Up, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler revealed that the Jets are ‘probably not' in the running for Watson.

When the Houston Texans did everything they could to upset Watson, inciting a trade request from the Pro Bowl quarterback, the Miami Dolphins and the Jets were the first two teams listed as possible destinations. A large reason why the Dolphins and Jets were described as likely landing spots was due to both of them having two first-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft.

It's going to take a historic ransom to pry Watson away from Houston. And seeing that New York is the only team that could offer four first-round picks in the next two seasons, they were considered a team that could make a serious offer for Watson's services.

However, Watson has a no-trade clause in his current contract, allowing him to choose where he's traded. Fowler reported that the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos are two teams he's heard that Watson would be interested in joining.

The 49ers have Kyle Shanahan running the show, with plenty of weapons on offense, including the likes of George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and a deep running back room. Not to mention, they have a defense that is still littered with talented players.

On the other hand, the Broncos have Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Noah Fant to throw the ball to. Denver also has a talented defense, along with Vic Fangio as the head coach. While the Jets could offer a hefty package for Watson, the young signal-caller doesn't seem to believe that New York is the best option for him.
