The New York Jets supposedly aren't actively shopping running back Le'Veon Bell, but they have received many calls from teams, according to Connor Hughes of the Athletic.

News broke earlier Tuesday that the Jets are interested in trading Bell, but this report suggests they aren't necessarily going out and making the calls:

According to Hughes, Bell isn't completely off the table, but the Jets are asking a very high price in return for their star back. The two teams most interested in Bell's service are reportedly the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans. Both of those teams make a lot of sense because they are playoff contenders who are both missing a star running back. The Buffalo Bills have also been mentioned as a potential trade partner.

Even if the Jets aren't going out looking for a trade partner, it would make a lot of sense if a trade did get done. There were rumors when Bell was signed that Adam Gase didn't want the team to bring him on, and it was actually former general manager Mike Maccagnan that signed off on the deal.

The team moved on from Maccagnan and now Joe Douglas is calling the shots. If Douglas doesn't think that Bell is going to be a part of the long-term plan for this team, it would make sense to try to unload some of his salary.

There were high expectations for Bell this season, but he hasn't lived up to them. He has rushed 109 times for 349 yards and a touchdown. A big reason for the lack in production is teams being able to load the box to take him away because of the poor quarterback play.

The trade deadline is at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, so if a deal was to get done, it would happen in the next couple of hours.
