“Kids see ghosts sometimes.”

The New England Patriots defense has made their presence felt in their early waxing of the New York Jets in prime time. It appears the pressure is already starting to get to quarterback Sam Darnold.

The Patriots have forced Darnold to commit three turnovers in a first-half shutout. The second-year quarterback was heard admitting to seeing ghosts while on the sideline, via Will Brinson of CBS Sports:

Darnold's comments are telling of how this game has gone for the Jets and it is hardly an encouraging sign for a potential resurgence. The elite Patriots defense has provided consistent pressure while coming through when they need it most by forcing errors in the red zone.

Darnold completed just 6-of-13 passes for 34 yards and two interceptions while under constant duress in the first half. New York may need to consider keeping him on the sideline at some point if the game continues to get away from them, especially with center Ryan Kalil dealing with an elbow injury.
