Forget all of the New York Jets quarterback hoopla in moving up to the No. 3 spot in the NFL Draft. There are two quarterbacks currently employed in Florham Park, New Jersey, and the name of one of those guys is Teddy Bridgewater.

On Sunday, the signing of the Louisville product became official. Shortly afterward, the young pocket-passer showcased a special message for all Jets fans.

Forget the entire offseason. For decades, the quarterback position has been a major narrative in Northern New Jersey. Ken O’Brien and Chad Pennington moments aside, this NFL organization hasn’t experienced what employing a franchise quarterback feels like in nearly half a century and when Joe Namath was in town, the rules hadn’t yet swayed to the point of QB/offense dominance.

Despite surprising with a 5-11 season after Suck for Sam and tank were the key points heading in, New York is now guaranteed one of the three top quarterbacks in next month’s NFL Draft (Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen).

Bridgewater isn’t letting that bother him.

Though he cost a pretty penny for one season, the 25-year-old who was taken with the 32nd overall pick in 2014 will be one of (potentially) three solid signal callers for New York in 2018.

Despite missing all of 2016 with an ACL, the kid has made a mark in the league. In 2015, he qualified for the Pro Bowl after throwing for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns to nine interceptions. He also rushed for 192 yards and three scores for the Minnesota Vikings.

On this day, the afternoon he was officially announced to the fanbase as the newest New York Jets player, Josh McCown and the No. 3 pick does not matter. It’s Teddy and the Jets.
