The New York Jets have somewhat of a makeshift wide receiver group and they could be adding to it soon.

It was revealed on Thursday that the Jets are working out former No. 7 pick Kevin White, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Back in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears took White with the seventh-overall pick out of West Virginia. Just the pick before the Bears, the New York Jets elected to take Leonard Williams instead of the standout wide receiver. As Ralph Vacchiano of SNY pointed out, Adam Gase and Joe Douglas were part of Chicago's staff when the team took White.

Nevertheless, White's career in the NFL has been marred with injuries so far. In his first three seasons with the Bears, White played in just 14 games due to injuries and failed to live up to expectations in his time in Chicago. Altogether, in those three seasons, he combined for only 25 receptions for 285 yards and zero touchdowns.

As a result of his injury issues, the Bears released White as part of the team's roster cuts during training camp last year. Shortly after his release, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals. Then, before the 2019 season even began, White was let go by the Cardinals.

For the Jets, they've attempted to bolster their wide receiver group following the departure of Robby Anderson. Currently, New York's wide receivers are Jamison Crowder, Breshad Perriman, and rookie Denzel Mims. The Jets also recently signed Chris Hogan to provide depth at the position.

Given the current state of the offense, New York could decide to add White to the roster. Of course, his potential return to an NFL team is reliant upon his health.
