Since deciding to take his talents to China last year, Jimmer Fredette quickly established himself as a cut above the rest in the CBA. He has had a number of incredible performances, making him a scoring leader in the league, and leading to his growing popularity in the country.

Not even completing a full season yet, he was already signed by a Chinese sneaker brand, where part of the deal is for them to give him his own signature shoe line. The 28-year-old took to Twitter account recently and proudly shared photos of his new kicks made for him by 361 for his fans to see.

Before entering the NBA back in 2011, Fredette was a highly touted prospect from BYU, as he had a stellar college career. He broke almost all individual scoring records of his school, as well as in their conference. It resulted to him getting selected 10th overall by the Sacramento Kings, and had his best run in the league in his rookie season. However, he failed to find his niche at the highest level and bounced around the NBA, and even had stints in the D-League. With the lack of interest he generated from teams last year, it prompted him to choose to play overseas instead.

The good news for the 6-foot-2 guard is that he was accepted with open arms by his team, the Shanghai Sharks. He is playing a big role for them now and is their go-to-guy, especially in late game situations. Fredette has delivered clutch performances for them as well, making him one of the most popular athletes in all of China today. If he continues to play well, he may follow the footsteps of Stephon Marbury, who is considered a legend in the country, and the gold standard for all foreign players playing in the CBA.
