After his successful stint in China, Jimmer Fredette drew attention from some NBA teams who wanted to secure his services to try and bolster their lineups. Although he received a few offers, he apparently turned them down when he went back to the U.S.

It was reported that he did not accept some 10-day offers as he opted to stay home with his wife and their newborn daughter, according to a piece made by Ken Tingley of The Post-Star.

“A couple teams offered Jimmer 10-day contracts when he returned, but Jimmer was content to stay home with Whitney and their new daughter, Wesley. Mother and daughter are doing fine.”

Before being selected 10th overall in the 2011 draft, Fredette was a highly touted prospect because of his shooting prowess. Unfortunately for him, things did not go according to plan as he failed to showcase his talents and bounced around the league before he played in the D-League. He was forced to bring his game overseas due to the lack of opportunities in the NBA, and thought of it as a means for him to resurrect his career.

The former BYU Cougar made a lot of headlines as he dominated in the Chinese Basketball Association with his league-leading 37.6 points per game for the Shanghai Sharks, which helped him win the MVP Award. His popularity skyrocketed after only playing a few matches for his team and became a household name in the country. Fredette brought the fans back to the arenas as he was enough reason for them to purchase tickets in all of their season games.

The Sharks have already made their intentions known that they want him back next season, and may be willing to give him a better offer than what he received last year. However, with some NBA teams also showing interest in him, it will be a very interesting summer as he needs to make a decision on his future.
