Disappointment was evidently seen across the faces of the Miami Heat players. This rang especially true for Jimmy Butler, after suffering a 106-93 loss in Game 6 which serves as a death knell for them in the 2020 NBA Finals.

The former Marquette product felt that he didn't deliver on a promise to team president Pat Riley and coach Erik Spoelstra after the failed championship run:

“This is what my team needed me to do, the organization asked of me,” he said. “I told them that I would win them one and I didn't hold up my end of the bargain, so that means I got to do it next year. I told Coach Pat, I told Coach Spo I'm here to win one. I didn't do my job, so moving forward, I got to hold up my end of the bargain.”

His squad turned out to be a revelation in the 2020 NBA Playoffs as they toppled Eastern Conference favorites in the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics along the way.

Butler also led the fifth-seeded Heat to within two games of an NBA championship, putting together one of the most unexpected runs to the Finals in recent memory. In 20 playoff games, the veteran averaged norms of 22.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists. Despite the Finals defeat, Heat fans couldn't ask for more from Butler and company who fought their hardest to upset the powerhouse Los Angeles Lakers.

The Miami Heat players may not have won the 2020 NBA title but they will still be leaving the bubble with heads held high. They will certainly come out with a vengeance and be back to redeem themselves in the Finals stage once again.
