Jimmy Butler is currently focused on winning a gold medal in the Rio Olympics next month, but that doesn't mean he's not excited about the Chicago Bulls‘ makeover during the offseason.

After losing Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, Butler is now joined by Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade.

Butler posted about his new teammates on the Bulls official website:

D-Wade’s here; I’m excited.

It’s a new start for a lot of us. There are multiple ways to score the basketball. I don’t get into analytics and the numbers. I think D-Wade has put the ball in the basket for a lot of years. He’s a great player because of the way he scores the ball.

Needless to say, Butler is optimistic even in the face of criticism of teammate Rondo's jump shot being a liability.

Rondo, call him what you want, but he’s effective at what he does. Same thing with myself. You can say you have to be able to knock down the open shot, but I think we’ll find ways.

Butler is looking to bounce back and regain another post season spot after missing the playoffs altogether last season.

Rondo has deceptive percentages from beyond the arc, shooting 36 percent, and Wade shot a lowly 7 of 44 from three-point land, but Butler doesn't care about the trend of teams shooting more threes as he does making sure that ball gets in the hoop.

As long as I put the ball in the basket, I don’t think it matters whether it’s from outside or in the paint. Shooting threes or not … as long as I’m productive and efficient.

Butler is ready to move forward.
