The public perception of video games took a hard 180 once personalities started taking notice of games. The success of let's-players and streamers definitely helped bring people around. Late-night talk show hosts in particular ridiculed gaming content creators harshly on their shows. Now, people like Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon include video games in their programs. Just recently, Jimmy Fallon confirmed that he will be streaming a session of Among Us live on Twitch. Many talk show hosts played games on their shows but they hardly step behind enemy lines, where the streamers are king.

JIMMY FALLON AND VIDEO GAMES

Jimmy Fallon famously included games on his show in the past. The Nintendo Switch initially appeared in North America during an episode of The Tonight Show back in 2016. Jimmy got to try the Switch hands-on alongside former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé. Additionally, the episode included legendary Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto posing as an audience member.

The special Among Us stream kicks off today at 3:45 pm PT/6:45 pm ET on Fallon's official Twitch channel. The special includes several notable personalities. Stranger Things stars Gaten Matarazzo and Noah Schnapp join Fallon on the new Airship map in Among Us. Some streamers will be part of the party such as Corpse Husband, Sykkuno, and Valkyrae. Among Us' community director Victoria Tran joins in the fun as well.

Fallon's first time streaming on Twitch is definitely not a show to be missed.  Among Us is an easy gateway for uninitiated personalities to try game streaming. Its simple-to-understand but difficult-to-master game of deception makes it an entertaining game to play with friends and funny people. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez famously streamed Among Us back in October of 2020. Obviously, the game attracts players from everywhere.

Hopefully, Jimmy Fallon's special Among Us stream opens the door for more non-gaming personalities hosting their own gaming shows.
