Jimmy Garoppolo is a veteran quarterback playing in his eighth season in the NFL. After spending three years as the backup of Tom Brady, Garoppolo became the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, a job he occupies to this day after reaching the Super Bowl in the 2019 season. Let’s dig into Jimmy Garoppolo’s net worth in 2021.

Jimmy Garoppolo’s Net Worth in 2021 (Estimate): $25 million

Jimmy Garoppolo’s net worth in 2021 is $25 million. This is according to numerous outlets, including Celebrity Net Worth.

Of course, most of it comes from his lucrative contract with the 49ers. He signed a five-year extension with the 49ers in February 2019, which is reportedly worth around $137.5 million. However, before his huge contract and his stint with Tom Brady, Garoppolo grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois.

Garoppolo was born in Arlington Heights in 1991, and that is where he grew up. He played high school football and baseball in Rolling Meadows and almost became a professional baseball pitcher. Fortunately for him, he chose to pursue football at the next level after his successful stint as quarterback for his high school. He did not get much attention from bigger colleges, thus he decided to attend Eastern Illinois.

He spent four years at this relatively small college, and he played well there. He won numerous awards, especially during his last couple of seasons in college. Most notably, he broke the school’s record for career pass completions. This is made even more significant when it is considered that the record was previously held by former Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo.

Upon entering the 2014 NFL Draft, he was not rated as a star quarterback prospect. Thus, Garoppolo fell to the 62nd pick and went right into the hands of the New England Patriots. The Patriots had Tom Brady but needed a strong backup and a potential replacement down the line. In his first season, Jimmy G featured in six games. All six appearances were due to huge leads held by the Patriots, which made coach Bill Belichick rest Brady. It is notable that Garoppolo linked with Rob Gronkowski for a touchdown on his first drive.

Jimmy G’s rookie season was capped off by his first ring in the league. The Patriots played the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl and won by four points in the end. Garoppolo was, according to USA TODAY Sports, credited with helping the defense prepare for Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Garoppolo’s next season was not as notable, but in his third season with the Patriots, he did get a limited opportunity. Due to Deflategate, the scandal in which Tom Brady was included, Garoppolo was made a starter for a few games. He played well in the first two, but a shoulder injury at the end of the second game sidelined him for the next two games. As he came back, so did Brady, and that was, more or less, the end of his Patriots stint. He did win one more ring that season but did not play in the playoffs.

During the 2017 season, he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers, which is where he is for the 2021 season. His best success with the 49ers came during the 2019 run to the Super Bowl, where the squad ultimately fell to the Kansas City Chiefs. Garoppolo became a starter almost right away before he really solidified his place in that 2019 season. Unfortunately for him, his 2020 season was cut short to just six games, and the 49ers drafted young quarterback Trey Lance in the 2021 NFL Draft to be the quarterback of the future. Jimmy G remains the starter, though, as the calendar gets set to flip to 2022, and it remains to be seen what the long-term plan is for him in San Francisco.

Garoppolo has had quite the NFL career so far. There was much to learn from Tom Brady with New England, and while he did not feature much for the Patriots, he still earned two Super Bowl rings and valuable experience. Upon coming to the 49ers, Jimmy G helped turn the franchise around and got them to the Super Bowl, even through they suffered that tough defeat to the Chiefs. Garoppolo has dealt with plenty of noise surrounding his status in San Francisco and has handled it pretty well.

In terms of Garoppolo’s other endeavors, he has had endorsement deals with Nike, Jordan Brand, Bose, New Era, and Men’s Wearhouse in his career. He also showed off Levi’s jeans in a special GQ spot in 2019. The endorsements and his large salary have helped him amass quite a bit of wealth to create this $25 million net worth.
