Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard J.J. Redick was present at the Anaheim Angels‘ game on Saturday and was slated to throw the first pitch. In an interview with Fox Sports, he admitted it's his first time to do the ceremonial throw and that he was planning to “throw a dart.”

And he kept his promise to do so. Kind of.

The video can be seen in a  post from usatoday.com. It can be noted that the commentators were the ones to first react on how Redick's pitch turned out. Clearly a close call as it bounced right in front of the catcher, good thing it was Mike Trout, who many consider as one of the MLB's best and he was able to secure it and prevent anything terrible to happen.

Redick then took to Instagram and shared some photos from eventful day. He also is very well versed with sarcasm.

Mike Trout thanking me for not ending his career with my honorary first pitch.

The 32 year old also shared an adorable photo of him with his son who was watching a live baseball game for the first time.

Last one- Knox's first baseball game. Thanks to the Angels for being awesome hosts!

As seen on his pictures, the Redick family had a very fun day. And as the famous line goes, all's well that end's well.
