Conor McGregor looks all set to make his return to the UFC and he has a few options ahead of him. Joe Rogan recently spoke and gave his opinion on who he thinks the Irishman should face next.

Joe Rogan was recently on ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson‘ where he was asked about Conor McGregor. The UFC commentator doesn't want to see him face Kamaru Usman next after a long layoff.

“If Conor wants the most chance of success, I would say fight a guy who is a little below championship-level. Maybe like a guy on the come-up, who Conor has an advantage over, but is still a competitive fight. Give him a test. But don’t put him in there right away with Usman.”

Joe Rogan compared Conor McGregor's return with what boxers tend to. Boxers like to take a tune-up fight before jumping into championship fights, the UFC doesn't do things that way.

“I think, honestly, when boxers come back from a long layoff and they come back from a loss, one thing that boxers do that’s smart is they have a tune-up fight. I think there’s a reason why they’ve been using tune-up fights forever like astute managers. They know you got to knock the dust off and you’ll be better in the next performance.”

It will have to be seen what the UFC chooses to do with Conor McGregor once he makes his return to the cage. Joe Rogan certainly has a good idea of who to match him up with next.
