Sunny days are once again looming in the City of Brotherly Love with the Philadelphia 76ers finally seeming to have found its direction.

Ben Simmons’ arrival opened up a bag of hope for Sixers fans, and the addition of Dario Saric also sparks some good mysterious vibe around the team. But one player that people should never write off is Joel Embiid.

The 3rd overall pick in 2014 has never played a minute in the NBA as the Sixers opted to be extremely cautious in his recovery from injury. But chances are finally looking optimistic and Embiid is now expected to suit up when the season tips off.

To fuel the hype, a skills coach recently posted a clip of Joel Embiid during one of his workouts, and he looked really good.

To further emphasize how high Philadelphia is on Embiid’s potential, ponder on these thoughts. They waited this long, which is unconventional, to make sure that their prized “rookie” steps on the floor in the best possible condition.

Also, despite the Sixers having three young and promising big men, Joel Embiid’s name has never been thrown around in trade talks. Only Nerlens Noel and, even more so, Jahlil Okafor have been the target of recent rumors. It could be that other teams don’t want to risk on his health, but that’s unlikely considering how Philadelphia has committed themselves in the whole rehabilitation process.

Previously tagged as the second coming of Hakeem Olajuwon, the skillful young center out of Kansas can now prove his worthiness to all those lofty expectations.
