New relationships seem to continue to form with the up and coming team of Philadelphia 76ers. After a few bad seasons, the Sixers managed to grab a few good draft picks. They as of now have probably the most talented and promising young frontcourt. Of course they have to build around that but also within it. An argument can be made that they have too much going on in the frontcourt and nothing at all in backcourt.

Joel Embiid, the 2014 3rd overall draftee for the Sixers and Ben Simmons, 1st overall draftee of 2016, will both make their NBA debuts in the season to come. Joel finally looks healthy and determined to honor his contract while the Sixers do have trust in his potential as well. That was made obvious when he wasn't even commonly included in rumors for a trade. Rumors mostly concern Nerlens Noel or Jahlil Okafor.

Both Embiid and Simmons have put work together during the offseason and seemed to have grown fond of each other. A new friendship was developed which hopefully for the Sixers, will reflect positively in NBA games as well. Embiid according to Kyle Phillippi of metro had some words to share about this new friendship and his return to basketball courts.

“He’s a great player, so I’m looking forward to playing with him,” Simmons said. “Off the court we’re like brothers. We have fun.”

“I’m the type of guy that loves [to go] fast,” Embiid said. “Once I get it, I’ll be good. I’ll do what’s best for the team. They’ll need my presence inside. When I’m open, I might find some things.”

Lots of excitement has been building up for the new members of the Sixers. Both can be described as great additions but they have to prove themselves in the world's best league. But as long as the team members stay close the future of the team will change from the bad results we have seen.

Philadelphia does need this change. The franchise started losing relevance a long time ago beginning with the departure of Allen Iverson. Now Simmons, the 1st overall draftee since and his newest best friend Embiid will work towards greatness once again.
