Philadelphia 76ers big-man and Rookie of The Year candidate Joel Embiid is a big fan of soccer. ‘The Process,” as he likes to be called, is one of the biggest soccer fans in the NBA, and he has been in the UK for last couple of days for the final of the UEFA Champions League between Real Madrid CF and Juventus.

Embiid did not shy away from supporting one club over the other. He was an avid supporter for Real Madrid and, after Cristiano Ronaldo scored the third goal that pretty much sealed the game for the Spanish giants, Embiid posted a video from his seat in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

Embiid is from Cameroon, and football is big there. Cameroon has produced some great footballers over time, including  Samuel Eto'o who won three Champions League titles, one for Inter Milan and two for Barcelona.

Embiid is right now recovering from his injuries sustained during the season in which he played in 31 games, making noise for the Philadelphia 76ers. He was drafted in 2014. with the third pick, but made his debut after two years of recovery from injuries to both of his feet. Before getting drafted, Embiid was a star for the Kansas Jayhawks, and it was a long wait for him to play on an NBA court due to his enormous potential.

With Ben Simmons coming back from injury, the future of Philadelphia, if its young core of Dario Saric, Embiid and Simmons is healthy, looks very promising.
