The Philadelphia 76ers are sticking to their plan of carefully (and finally) bringing Joel Embiid into his rookie season.

After suffering multiple setbacks since he was drafted in 2014, Embiid is finally on his way to making his debut in the NBA. However, he will be kept under restrictions by the team for cautionary reasons.

This means the team will evaluate his status game by game, including not participating in any back-to-back games the Sixers have on the schedule this season.

According to Keith Pompey of Philadelphia Inquirer, Embiid may start in the team's season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but the decision has not been made.

Since Joel Embiid has yet to play a single NBA game, he will be considered a rookie this upcoming season.

The Sixers and their fans are anticipating their third overall draft pick to be on the floor along with Ben Simmons and Dario Saric, who both have highly anticipated rookie seasons as well.

Philly fans hope this is finally the year that the team will go away from the tanking culture that has ironically earned them multiple lottery picks.
