Are you ready for your brain to start oozing from your ears? Too bad. Here it comes. According to Jay Glazer, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch asked New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick if he would be willing to trade Tom Brady during the offseason.

I repeat, and this is real:

49ers general manager John Lynch asked Patriots coach Bill Belichick if he would be willing to trade Tom Brady during the offseason.

And now we are all dead.

For context, here is the video in which Glazer describes what happened:

For those too lazy or unable to watch the video, Glazer tell the story like this (paraphrased version):

Lynch asked Belichick if he would be willing to trade Jimmy Garoppolo in the offseason. The New England coach said no. The San Francisco GM let that settle in his belly for a few minutes, called back, then asked if the Patriots would trade the 49ers Tom Brady.

After that, as Glazer would tell it, Bill Belichick lost his marbles — in a fun way — wondering why in the heck he would trade the greatest gunslinger of all-time.

Who knows how true Glazer's account of this is? There are certainly some truths to it. Glazer is a legit reporter, who is definitely not making up the trade request. The rest of his account does seem like a bit of showmanship, but even if it is that, he is doing a good job of it.

For those wondering, Tom Brady is still in New England. Sorry, Lynch.
