Each year, the University of Kentucky has produced players that have been selected high in the NBA Draft. This year is no different as De’Aaron Fox is already projected to be a top-five pick, and is highly regarded as one of the best point guards in the talented pool.

Despite most of the attention given to Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball, many believe Fox is underrated and that he has the potential to be a good point guard in the league. One player that has the utmost belief in him is former Wildcat and current Washington Wizards point guard John Wall, who went as far as saying he thinks he’ll have the best career among the three of them. He then added, via Alec Nathan of Bleacher Report, that he reminds him a lot of his younger self, coming from the same school and also being a lefty.

“A lot of people say it’s bias because he’s from Kentucky, but I think De’Aaron Fox might end up being the best point guard out of that class,” he said. “He reminds me of myself a lot, just a lefty.”

That is definitely high praise for the 19-year-old and could also boost his stock with only a few weeks left before the lottery. In his lone season with Kentucky, he had impressive averages of 16.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Although he is lanky and appears to need to spend more time in the weight room, it’s something that can be worked on, and what’s important is he has the skill set to thrive in the NBA.

Whoever selects him on June 22nd, he will provide his team with solid playmaking skills and the ability to attack the basket when needed. For now, it’s anyone’s guess where he’ll end up, but one thing that’s certain is he’ll have a lot to prove and must live up to the hype, especially after the good words Wall said about him.
