Little Nightmares II is an upcoming sequel to the intriguing and highly regarded multiplatform horror action/adventure game Little Nightmares by publisher Bandai Namco and developer Tarsier Studios.
To get people interested who might not have played the first game, Bandai Namco is offering a free Steam key for the first game in the series when Little Nightmares II is preordered. Beyond that, the company is also offering a giveaway for a limited-edition themed Nintendo Switch console to create even more buzz for the highly anticipated sequel.
Little Nightmares first released in April 2017 for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and the game was immediately received well by critics – with many praising its immersive atmosphere, stylized and engaging graphics and terrific sound design.
Overall, the game has received some sterling reviews from notable publications, such as a 9/10 from Game Informer, an 8.5 from Polygon as well as Destructoid and an 8.8 from IGN. On ratings aggregator site Metacritic, Little Nightmares has a 78 for its PS4 rendition, a 79 for its Switch port, an 81 for its PC version and a robust 83 for its XONE version.
The game sees players take the guise of a girl in a yellow raincoat called Six who must sneak through an environment called the Maw using only a lighter. The game conveys its story and atmosphere through common childhood fears with a Tim Burton-esque flair that is reminiscent of The Nightmare Before Christmas or Beetlejuice.
