San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Jonathon Simmons is not waiting to impress his head coach Gregg Popovich, going full-throttle during his limited run in the first half against the Golden State Warriors on opening night.

The second-year Houston native filled up the stat sheet, going 6-of-6 from the field, including 3-of-3 from deep, tallying up 15 points in 10 minutes of playing time. None of the shots were sweeter than this buzzer beater to cap off the first half.

Simmons is a gritty defender that can make plays and shoot the ball effectively. If he can make the most of his opportunity as he has been doing thus far, it won't take be before he takes over Kyle Anderson‘s starting spot and possibly even be in line for more minutes after Danny Green returns from injury.

Jonathon Simmons scored half of San Antonio's bench points which put the team ahead by 18 by halftime.
