Former Los Angeles Lakers back-up point guard Jordan Farmar has agreed to a deal with the Sacramento Kings, as per David Pick.

The 29-year-old was a member of the Memphis Grizzlies last year, playing just twelve games in which he averaged 9.2 points, 3.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per contest

Rajon Rondo left via free-agency this summer and the point guard position has been a question mark for Kings fans ever since. Sacramento were already in need of some back-court depth before this move, as Darren Collison’s potential suspension would leave the team with only Ty Lawson as its primary ball-handler.

With training camp approaching, Farmar will most likely be competing with newly drafted guard Isaiah Cousins to play as the team’s third string point guard.

Farmar had a four-year run in the Lakers' rotation between 2006-2010, picking up two NBA championships along the way. Since leaving the Lakers, he has bounced around between a host of teams including the Los Angeles Clippers, Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv, and the New Jersey Nets.

The Kings have given a chance to Farmar and fans will hope that the move pays off.

The California native is at a prime age, so time is on his side when it comes to re-establishing himself as a contributing NBA player.
