Former Boston Celtics draft choice Jordan Mickey is finalizing a guaranteed $1.5 million minimum deal with the Miami Heat, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical. His contract would include a 2018-19 team-option.

Mickey only logged 41 games and one start under Brad Stevens, making him a disposable asset for a loaded Celtics roster that now boasts Gordon Hayward in its ranks.

The LSU product impressed during his time in the G League with the Maine Red Claws, posting 20.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.8 blocked shots per game. The 23-year-old has also expanded his range within the last season, shooting 43.8 percent from deep, and making him a more valuable asset for a Heat team looking to grow from its youth.

Mickey turned it on even more in the playoffs, raising his averages to 21.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks during his five postseason games with the Red Claws. He could crack a roster spot behind James Johnson at power forward as a three-and-D archetype to stretch the floor and use his length in passing lanes and on the low-post.
