In this post, we're going to be focusing on Jordan Spieth's wife Annie Verret, but maybe some information on the golfer is needed first. Jordan Spieth had quite a rebound year in 2022. After years of waiting for a return to the top of his game, the Dallas, Texas native is finally relevant again in the world of golf, as he won his first PGA TOUR event in four years when he ruled the field in the 2021 Valero Texas Open.

That win was symbolic for Spieth because of a number of things, among which is the fact that he won it in his native state of Texas. It’s also the first PGA TOUR win for Spieth since getting married to his high school sweetheart. With all that being said, it’s now time for us to talk more about the woman who's making Spieth feel like a winner every day. Ladies and gentlemen, Jordan Spieth's wife Annie Verret.

Jordan Spieth's wife: Annie Verret

Jordan Spieth, Masters

As mentioned earlier, Spieth married Annie Verret during his well-documented slump. Before his 2021 Valero Texas Open victory, Spieth’s last win was in the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, where he edged Matt Kuchar by three strokes. Everything ahead of Spieth was looking fine. He felt like a king of the sport, winning $1.85 million for his performance in that tournament. It all happened in July. Months later, Spieth proposed to Annie and the two were engaged on Christmas Eve.

According to The Sun, Jordan and Annie were introduced to each other during their high school days in Texas. At the time, Jordan was enrolled at the Jesuit College Preparatory School, while Annie went to Ursuline Academy.  The two remained a couple after their high school days, even though they attended different universities. While Spieth went on to become a Texas Longhorn, Annie decided to go to Lubbock and study at Texas Tech.

Jordan flashed signs of future stardom in the sport of golf during his college years in Norman. In his first year in Texas, he won three tournaments and managed to lead the Longhorns in scoring average. He was so good that he became part of the All-Big 12 Team and was awarded the honors of Big 12 Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year.

Annie was not too shabby herself in college. She was to academics what Spieth was to golf in college. In fact, she graduated with a GPA of 4.0, which was par for the course for smart people. Apart from getting high grades in college, Jordan Spieth’s wife also dedicated lots of time to helping St. Jude Children’s Hospital in 2013, raising funds by securing corporate sponsorships and donations among other ways.

After college, Annie took a job as a salesperson for St. Bernard Sports, a family-owned retailer. According to her LinkedIn profile, the job entails organizing “floor displays to maximize space and call attention to latest merchandise” and attending “ informational clinics about technical ski wear and high-end sportswear.” She held on to that job for nearly three years.

She had a brief stint as an intern in the human resources department of the American Heart Association in 2013 before moving on to become part of The First Tee of Greater Dallas, an organization that uses golf to provide young people with life skills and lessons they would need in the future. She worked there for four years, starting as an Outreach Assistant Intern in 2013 to becoming an Even Coordinator in 2015 until her exit in 2017.

At present, Jordan Spieth’s wife is the Director of Development for The Birthday Party Project, which is a non-profit organization that benefits “homeless and transitional living facilities across the country,” according to its LinkedIn page.

Annie was surely one of the happiest people for Jordan Spieth when he won the 2021 Valero Texas Open, as she knows how much her husband suffered and how hard he worked over those winless years. Spieth was clearly grateful for the support she’s been getting from Annie and spoke glowingly of her after that victory, via Matt Galatzan of Sports Illustrated.

“My wife has been just a rock to me,” Spieth continued. “This is my first win since we've been married so it's been progressing this way since maybe December. Before that, there were a lot of tough times. When you're struggling at work, you try not to bring it home and that kind of stuff. I'm very grateful for the people I have around me.”

Jordan Spieth’s wife seems to be a bit more of a private person compared to other wives and girlfriends of pro athletes. You can tell that by the way she handles her social media accounts, particularly her Instagram account, which is set to private and only has 880 followers.

So there you have it. Thank you for reading this piece about Jordan Spieth’s wife Annie Verret.
