Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jose Calderon is expected to miss two to four weeks after the MRI results revealed a strained right hamstring, according to a team release on Monday.

Calderon was injured during Saturday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. He played only eight minutes before sitting out the rest of the game, as the Lakers called on veteran sixth man Lou Williams for the remainder of the game.

Williams responded with a season-high 40-point effort, but the deflated Lakers ultimately fell short of the Grizzlies, 103-100.

The 35-year-old Spanish international had recently taken over the starting job after D'Angelo Russell went down with an injury. Luke Walton‘s team now only has three of six available guards to play in his rotation, counting the injury to starting shooting guard Nick Young.

The team will likely be forced to start third-stringer Marcelo Huertas at point guard, but Williams and Jordan Clarkson will see minutes in the high thirties thanks to a very thin frontcourt.
