Buffalo Bills gunslinger Josh Allen is closer to Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes than you think. Wait. Hold on. Relax for a second.

The debate that will last all offseason in fantasy football circles will be based on who will be the quarterback to add to your roster after Patrick Mahomes. It is Josh Allen.

The conversation between predicting the future of Josh Allen and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is an enticing one. After looking at both of their abilities to run the football, as well as find their playmakers down the field for large chunk plays, puts both of them in the tier right behind Patrick Mahomes in dynasty fantasy football leagues.

On the daily Peacock and Williamson podcast, an NFL show by the Locked On Podcast Network, Matt Williamson and Brian Peacock discuss the top 10 fantasy options to consider for dynasty leagues this offseason. Patrick Mahomes was the clear-cut leader. After that, different lists branch out a bit. Williamson made a strong argument for Josh Allen at number two.

Williamson: I went with Josh Allen. I was just so blown away by how he transformed himself from last year to this year as a passer. He remained a massive running threat too. He is kind of their short-yardage running back too, much like Cam Newton was before him. He ran for over 400 yards. Maybe some of those things will start to slow down since he is so valuable to the franchise and age will set in a little. But still, he scored 45 touchdowns this year and he might only be getting better. I think that the Bills absolutely recognize how to put things around him to maximize his production for real life and for fantasy.
