Josh Emmett is set to make his return to the cage following a torn ACL in 2020. The featherweight heavy-hitter is set to meet Dan Ige in a very exciting matchup.

The bout is being added to a stacked UFC 269 that sees Charles Oliveira defend his lightweight belt and Amanda Nunes defend the bantamweight strap against Julianna Pena.

The news of Josh Emmett taking on Dan Ige was first reported by BJPenn.com's Cole Shelton. It's not clear yet where the fight is expected to take place on the card.

Josh Emmett last competed against Shane Burgos in June 2020. The fight was unofficially called the ‘Fight of the Year' by everyone.

Josh Emmett would tear his ACL in the contest and be forced to take time off to recover. He is currently on a three-fight win streak with wins over Burgos, by decision, and knockouts over Mirsad Bektic, and Michael Johnson.

Dan Ige has been looking for an opportunity to break out at featherweight. He's beaten the likes of Bektic, Gavin Tucker, and Edson Barboza.

Dan Ige is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Chan Sung Jung back in June of this year. The fight was competitive but ultimately The Korean Zombie proved to be too much for the Hawaiian.

UFC boasts some excellent matchups with Santiago Ponzinibbio vs Geoff Neal, Jorge Masvidal vs Leon Edwards, and the card also has some fun prospects with Maycee Barber, Sean O'Malley, and Kai Kara-France. UFC 269 is expected to take place on December 11 with a location still to be determined.
