One of the more intriguing prospects in this year's draft is Kansas swingman Josh Jackson.

The 20-year old has recently conducted a few workouts with a number of the teams holding the top picks in the draft. Apparently, they were quite impressed.

According to John Gambadoro of the Arizona Sports 98.7, Jackson has been reportedly promised to be selected by either the Los Angeles Lakers or Philadelphia 76ers.

Although there is no clear indication on which team made the promise, it nonetheless spices up the talk leading up to the draft that will take place on Thursday, June 22. The Lakers have long been rumored to be heavily interested in taking UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball second overall.

However, there have been a number of reports that suggest that Los Angeles isn't as enamored with Ball as previously thought, with the latest concerns stemming from his conditioning during his workout with the team last week.

Many perspectives have been taken about the situation. Some believe these reports are smokescreens to give off the perception that they are leaving their options open, while others are taking them at face value. Keep in mind, Los Angeles attended a workout from Jackson this past week in Sacramento.

As for the 76ers, the team sits in the position of having to wait and see which prospects are available at third overall. Unless they trade up, this is one of their control.

However, there is a strong possibility of a promise given by Philadelphia due to Washington point guard Markelle Fultz appearing to be the most likely to go first to the Boston Celtics, with Ball still landing with the Lakers.

This new revelation makes things much more interesting, but at the same time, it should be taken with a grain of salt.
