After completing his first season in the NBA, Juan Hernangomez was able to play against the best basketball players in the world, and now has a better understanding of how they thrive in the league. Competing against the likes of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard, among others, also made him see up close the talent level of the competition.

However, the 21-year-old Spanish international recently admitted, via Jorge Sierra of HoosHype.com, that the player he thinks is the biggest talent for him is his Denver Nuggets teammate, Nikola Jokic, who had a breakthrough season this year.

“From Day 1, I was in shock with Nikola Jokic. Honestly, he’s the biggest talent I’ve seen in my life. When he improves physically and gets more ready for a full NBA season, he’s going to be so, so good. He’s our franchise player. He can give you 20 points and 20 rebounds, he will shoot threes, he can give you 12-15 assists. When the ball goes through him and he has a good day, our team has very good chances of winning. We really need him for next year.”

The Joker had his best season as pro with averages of 18.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He turned a lot of heads with his play as a big man with an all-around game.

Despite missing out on the playoffs, the future remains bright for Jokic, and he has plenty of confidence in himself to continue the strong play he had this campaign. Hernangomez’s high praise also serves as a big boost to Jokic's confidence, knowing how highly his teammate thinks of him.
