Team president Pat Riley wanted Winslow to step up as the vocal leader of the team, despite him being only a second-year player.
The Duke standout has done his part, tallying 10.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists this season while playing his signature stingy defense and making the most of his minutes on the floor.
Winslow has improved his scoring by more than 4.5 points and his assist total by 2.2 from last season.
