Juventus are planning to extend the contract of Adrien Rabiot in the coming months. The French defender has been in talks to leave the club for most of this summer, but the moves away from Italy haven't materialized.

According to the reports from Fabrizio Romano, Juventus is planning to discuss a new deal with Rabiot. He has officially entered the last 12 months of his current contract with the Old Lady. The French World Cup winner was keen on staying with the Italian giants despite multiple offers and is now focused on a long-term stay.

Many expected that this summer would mark the end of Rabiot at Juventus. The Old Lady were prepared to start a new era under Max Allegri as they looked forward to competing for the Scudetto again. The Italian giants haven't won the Italian league since 2020. Last season was extremely controversial for them as they were deducted 10 points due to false accounting of transfer deals.

This year, they have bought in three new midfielders. Weston McKennie, Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, and Timothy Weah have all joined the club from their respective leagues. However, they are all unproven at the highest level. Juventus signed Paul Pogba on a free transfer last season, but his injury concerns don't seem to be going away.

Although Pogba has suggested that he has felt the best since he returned to the club, there is always a question mark on his fitness. Hence, the contract extension of Rabiot makes a lot of sense, as he will provide the Old Lady with depth in midfield.
