The Kansas City Chiefs are have started off the season slow despite Super Bowl expectations. Even superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes has struggled to get going and has turned the ball over more than usual. With a 2-3 record, the Chiefs have a lot of work to do if they are going to make it back to the Super Bowl.

Chiefs Week 6 Predictions

Last week, the Chiefs lost to the Buffalo Bills, who have now emerged as the favorite in the AFC. The Chiefs will look to get back on track against the Washington Football Team on the road. With that said, here are four bold predictions for the Chiefs' Week 6 matchup against the Washington Football Team.

4. Chiefs defense picks off Taylor Heinicke

Kansas City's defense has been atrocious to start the season, which has been a big reason for the Chiefs' slow start. Mahomes and the offense have turned the ball over a lot, but the defense is the real reason for the struggle. They still have talented players on the defensive side of the ball, including defensive tackle Chris Jones and safety Tyrann Mathieu.

The Washington Football quarterback Taylor Heinicke has thrown five interceptions, including two last week against the New Orleans Saints. Look for the Chiefs' defense to improve a little bit this week and force a turnover.

3. Travis Kelce goes over 100 yards

Travis Kelce has been the premier tight end in the NFL over the last few seasons. His elite play is a nightmare for defenses to defend as it is hard to leave him in single coverage. If Kelce is double-teamed, it frees up elite wide receiver Tyreek Hill to get open and take over the game.

So far this season, Kelce has 30 receptions for 369 yards and four touchdowns. Kelce has had two games where he has gone over 100 yards, and he should do so again this week. His route running behind head coach Andy Reid's play design will be difficult for Washinton to stop.

2. Kansas City wins the game

Kansas City needs to get back on track with a win this week to stay in the playoff hunt. Despite having an elite core of players, the Chiefs currently sit in last in the AFC West. Having just won the Super Bowl two seasons ago, Kansas City needs to fight through this early season adversity and pick up a win. Mahomes has not played from behind much in his career, but he will need to adjust to get the Chiefs back to winning games.

It will all start with the defense, as the offense still possesses its explosive ability. Look for Kansas City to win this week and begin to become a contender again.

1. Patrick Mahomes has a bounce-back game

Mahomes has been one of the best players in the league since he got the starting job. However, this year Mahomes has struggled with his turnovers. He has already thrown six interceptions this season, which is the same amount that he threw all of last season.

The thing about great players is they usually don't struggle for long. Mahomes has probably heard the talk of experts saying that he and the Chiefs are done, including ESPN's Stephen A Smith.

Look for Mahomes to have a bounce-back performance to lead the Chiefs back to the postseason once again.
