With a Kansas City Chiefs Week 13 matchup against the Denver Broncos on the slate, fans of every team in the AFC West division will be tuning in to see the outcome of this one. Chiefs-Broncos will have big implications on what has been one of the most tight-knit divisions in all of football, and we have some predictions as to how this one might play out.

The Chiefs were widely expected to run away with the AFC West this season, but a slow start to the year has them only one game ahead of the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers in the division. Things have been improving for Andy Reid's side, who have pulled off four consecutive wins dating back to their lopsided defeat to the Titans in Week 7.

For more insight on the Chiefs' Week 13 matchup against the Broncos, listen below:

Having just buried the Raiders, Giants, Packers, and Cowboys, the Chiefs will look to build on their momentum and make it five in a row on Sunday night against the Broncos. Denver has won three of its last four, but even amid their strong form, the Chiefs' overpowering offense should prove too much to handle, in what could end up being a lopsided victory in favor of KC.

A win for KC would give them a much-needed cushion in the division, and they'll be going all out to achieve that in Week 13.

Kansas City Chiefs Week 13 Predictions

4. Clyde Edwards-Helaire scores 2 touchdowns

Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been limited to just six games of action in 2021, but Kansas City's running back could be in line for a big game. With just one rushing touchdown under his belt this season, the LSU product will be eager to get into the end zone. The Broncos are going to have to respect the Chiefs' aerial attack too much to focus in on Edwards-Helaire, which could give him the opportunity to make some big plays and find the end zone.

While the second-year running back has struggled to find the end zone on the ground, he does have three receiving touchdowns to his credit this season. With so many threats on Kansas City's offense, Edwards-Helaire could end up with a big night.

3. Patrick Mahomes throws for 400 yards and 3 touchdowns

Mahomes has not had the season many were anticipating from him, but he can bounce back in a big way with a statement game on Sunday. The Broncos' passing defense is typically a top-10 unit in the league, but Justin Herbert and the Chargers put up 285 passing yards against them in Week 12. If Mahomes is locked in, there's no reason the 2018 MVP can't put up a better performance than that.

Kansas City knows this is a must-win game for them, and Mahomes is just two weeks removed from a 400+ passing yard performance of his own. With the entire offense getting back in rhythm, the Chiefs will look to do what they do best, overpower the defense with their explosive offense.

2. Chiefs' defense holds Broncos under 10 points

One of the noticeable improvements leading to Kansas City's four-game win streak has been the play of the defense as a whole. After abysmal performances to start the season, the Chiefs' defense looks like a brand new group of late, having held opponents below 17 points in each of their previous four games.

The Chiefs rank 24th this season in terms of passing defense, but over the past three weeks, they've surrendered just 207.3 passing yards per game, good for 11th best in the NFL. That's a significant improvement from a side that failed to keep opponents below 25 points throughout the first five games of the year. Their rushing defense has also been elite of late, ranking fifth in the league over the past three weeks, surrendering an average of 84.7 yards per game.

The way Kansas City's defense has been trending, paired with the injuries plaguing Denver's offense, the Chiefs' defensive unit could be in line for a shutdown performance.

1. Chiefs win by 20+ points

Not only are we expecting KC's defense to pick up where it left off, but the Chiefs seem primed for an outright domination of the Broncos, even on the road. Despite winning their past four, only one has come in typical Chiefs' blowout fashion, a 41-14 rout of the Raiders. Well, up against another division rival this week, KC will be looking to eliminate any doubt that they are the best team in the division, and Andy Reid's team will have their foot on the gas from the opening kickoff.

The Chiefs are no stranger to high-scoring affairs, but with their defense playing as well as it has been, they should be able to get out to a big lead early on if the offense can return to form. If Mahomes can connect with Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill early on in this one, there's no reason the Chiefs don't run away with it.
