The Kansas City Chiefs had a special 2019 season, finishing with Patrick Mahomes and his crew hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. Even though they fell behind each game in the playoffs, the Chiefs never gave up, coming back and coming out on top. Even with such a good team in 2019, the Chiefs knew they needed to make some improvements in hopes that they can win back-to-back Super Bowls,

On offense, there weren't a whole lot of weaknesses in terms of skill players. Not only did they not have many weaknesses, they improved with their first-round draft pick. Former LSU standout running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was selected by the Chiefs, and he makes an elite offense even better.

In the second round, Kansas State selected Willie Gay Jr. who had some off-the-field concerns but he is an elite coverage defender and should come in right away to be a difference-maker.

In the secondary with the cornerbacks, there are some questions being raised, but they should be okay, at least good enough to have success with how good the offense is. Bashaud Breeland and Charvarius Ward look to be in line to be the starters in 2020, and although they might not elite, they should be good.

Kendall Fuller is gone from last year's square, but as long as Juan Thornhill is healthy, he showed some flashes as being a solid player as a rookie. The biggest weakness isn't on the defense, it's actually on the offense.

Who is going to step up on the offensive line?

The interior of the offensive line was a big struggle last season that was often overlooked because of how much success the offense had. Center Austin Reiter and guards Andrew Wylie and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif all were big concerns during the 2019 season.

The Chiefs did draft Lucas Niang in the third round, who many believe is a steal. But trusting offensive linemen as rookies can sometimes be a concern. The team did add Mike Remmers this offseason and he is a fine player, but chances are he probably won't be a game-changer. It might be hard to improve the offensive line anymore this offseason, so they might just have to live with struggles on the interior offensive line.
